Teen Program
Our new teen program will begin in September 2012, open to graduates of our program and to new members ages thirteen and above.
We look forward to a fun, spirited group who will play a key role in shaping their program, along with their identities as Jews, activists, artists, and thinkers.
The program will be led by Zach Mayer, an accomplished jazz and klezmer musician with a fabulous rapport with teens.
The program will meet twice a month on Sunday afternoons at the Workmen’s Circle office at 247 West 37th Street, New York NY 10018.
It will feature the following activities, organized according to kids’ interests:
- Music and performance
- Community service and social justice
- Reading and discussions on Jewish topics
- Leadership training, including work with younger students in the shule classes.
- Eating and schmoozing
Teens will also be involved as leaders and participants in community-wide activities, including community service, social justice, music performances, trips, and holiday celebrations.
Tuition for the year is currently $275 (subject to change), and families of teens have free Community Membership.
